I love having digital cable. Here in my area it means you get the International Channel, which shows subtitled Slayers every Sunday night at 10.

Unfortunately for me, I always seem to miss bits and pieces of it. I've seen the end of the the original series 3 times. I've seen all of Next, and just a few minutes ago I watched the final episode of Slayers Try. After missing the two preceding episodes, that is. So I was a little lost.

I have to say, I'm a big fan of the series though. The character cast is excellent, between Linas aggressive-destructive attitude, Gaurrys stupidity, Amelias friendly nature and Zels melancholy ways. In Try, the interaction between Xellos and Filia is a laugh riot.

Then there's the comedy. Whether it's a little touch like everyone putting on sunglasses when a big spell is cast, or the more open slapstick routines, or just random stupidity I never fail to crack up at least once per episode. That isn't to say it's all comedy either, with its over-the-top action and a fair share of sad and dramatic moments.
