Cartoon Network's released their Initiatve today, detaling shows and acquisitions. And Gundam Seed is headed for...Toonami.
Or rather, the new Toonami.
Toonami itself is giving up its weekday slots to a new block, Miguzi. Meanwhile, Toonami is taking over what's left of SVES. (thats the saturday evening were they show the new transformers, zoids, knights of the zodiac, and other horribly dubbed shows)
Take heart though. Apparently Toonami is going to target teens (straight from their release). So cross your fingers and hope for the best |

In 2004, Cartoon Network will telecast more new episodes than ever before in its 11-year history, it was announced today at Cartoon Network’s Upfront presentation to advertising executives and the media in New York. Cartoon Network will air more than 500 new half-hours, including five new animated series, new episodes of returning original series and new acquisitions.
"We know that kids have voracious appetites for new shows, so we’ll have more new programming on Cartoon Network in 2004 than ever before. By greenlighting more new shows faster, ramping up production of current hits and aggressively acquiring new series, we’ll have twice the amount of new programming on our air this year than we did in 2002,” said Jim Samples, executive vice president and general manager, Cartoon Network. “I'm confident that our new shows will not only solidify our current lead with boys, but will continue the growth in girls viewing that started earlier this year.” |

Following are the highlights of Cartoon Network’s announcements:
New Shows: • Megas XLR: The new action-comedy series about a 20-something grease monkey who discovers a giant fighting robot from the future in a New Jersey landfill, premieres on Saturday, May 1, at 9 p.m. (ET, PT), anchoring Toonami’s new Saturday night lineup. Coop brings his discovery, called Megas, home and customizes it, but, in doing so, attracts the attention of evil aliens from the future. Now, Coop is forced into an uncomfortable role as the only hope for mankind, when he’d rather hang out, play video games and use his giant robot to cruise the Garden State. Megas XLR, created by Jody Schaeffer and George Krstic, is produced by Cartoon Network Studios in Burbank, Calif. |

| • Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends: From Craig McCracken, creator of The Powerpuff Girls, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends premieres with a 90-minute feature on Friday, July 16, followed by the series premiere on Friday, September 3. Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends tells the story of Mac, a smart, creative and shy 8-year-old, and his imaginary friend, Bloo. Mac’s mom thinks that her son is too old to have an imaginary friend, so Bloo is sent to live at the Victorian mansion that serves as Madame Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends. But Mac, not ready to abandon Bloo, strikes a deal with the home’s staff - Madame Foster, Frankie and Mr. Herriman - who promise not to let Bloo be adopted by anyone else if Mac visits him every day. Mac becomes the favorite visitor of all the imaginary friends, including Wilt, Eduardo and Coco, who bring the boy along on their adventures within the house and in the “real world.” |

Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern continue to lead the universe’s most powerful superheroes in an effort to stop criminal plots and alien threats that endanger the universe. Now, in Justice League Unlimited, they are joined by an even greater collection of heroes some of whom are well-known, like Supergirl, Green Arrow and the Atom, as well as some that are less familiar, like Booster Gold, Hawk & Dove, Elongated Man, The Question, Mister Miracle, Big Barda and Zatanna. Each half-hour will tell a power-packed story, combining some of the original heroes with new ones as they band together to battle alien invasions, powerful sorcerers, vast shadowy conspiracies and even ancient gods. |

She’s a hero to the universe, but on her home planet Earth, Betty’s just one of the gang. |

| • Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi: One of Japan’s biggest pop music acts arrives in America, not with a massive stadium tour but as a cartoon. Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, set to debut in December, follows the adventures of two very cool, but very different, pop stars as they travel from gig to gig or just hang out in their hometown of Tokyo. Ami is the peppy, positive and resourceful one. Yumi is the hard-rocking, no-nonsense cynic with an absolutely infallible sense of cool. Together, they take the world by storm, despite occasional misjudgments from their well-meaning but tragically square manager, Kaz. Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi also will feature live-action segments starring the real life Puffy AmiYumi as well as the group’s catchy J-pop hits. |

But fate has dealt June a slightly different hand. For generations, a member of her family has been born into the secret responsibility of fighting the forces of mischief and chaos that hide everywhere. On any given day, she may have to skip out on her best friend’s birthday party to discipline some unruly 6-foot leprechauns or smack down some troublemaking gnomes. The Life and Times of Juniper Lee, from creator Judd Winnick, will premiere in February 2005. |

Below is what I read about the Rave Master Manga. Not sure if the show on The Cartoon Nework follows the manga that close or not.
From the Publisher
The Continent of Song is in chaos. The sinister secret society known as Demon Card is using the power of Dark Bring to destroy everything in their path. The only things capable of stopping Dark Bring are the Rave stones. Unfortunately, the Rave Stones were scattered around the globe in an explosion 50 years ago, so now they must be collected by the Rave Master in order to stop Dark Bring once and for all.
From The Critics
Publisher's Weekly
Rave Master-the most popular manga among Japanese boys-is already an animated series in Japan and has multiple video game versions, too. Loosely plotted but chockfull of action, strange creatures and childish humor, it's not entirely coherent, but it's fun. The expansive story centers on a quest by the Rave Master to recover the Rave Stones, scattered across the world some 50 years ago. The Rave Master's task is urgent because Demon Card, a group of bad guys, is using the power of a demon stone, Dark Bring, to wreak destruction. Only the Rave Stones can stop these creatures. The book's hero, Haru Glory, has spent much of his life training to become a Rave Stone, having already lost his father to the quest. Exhibiting the usual brash confidence of a manga hero, Haru rises to the occasion when strange enemies attack. With his magic sword and a cute animal sidekick, Plue, Haru sets out across the world. The book, like a video game, is episodic, structured to go on until the creator grows tired of it. The artwork is more or less generic manga stylings and the storytelling is serviceable but shaky in spots. (Mashima was only 21 when he created Rave Master.) In fact, Mashima's real strength is character design. Plue and the many creatures Haru encounters are unusual and inventive. The book's thin veneer is decidedly for the Gameboy- and anime-drenched generation and should appeal to the same crowd that made Pok mon such a monster hit here. Well, technically fansubs are always illegal but there's sort of a gentlemens rule between the anime companies and the fansub communities. The corporations will look the other way about fansubs of a series until it gets liscensed for a stateside release, then the cease-and-desist letters start rolling out.

| QUOTE |
Due to concerns from our ad sales department about giving up one hour of sellable children's inventory on Saturday night, we regret that we were unable to obtain Saturday nights for Adult Swim action.
Instead, beginning Thursday, April 22, Thursday nights will be devoted to action programming. Sunday nights, beginning April 18, will be devoted to comedy. We actually believe ratings on these two nights will be stronger for these changes, but we admit it's not as good as adding an extra night of Adult Swim programming.
Monday-Wednesday programming will remain a mix of comedy and action.
Other announcements:
-- The Animatrix premieres Thursday, April 22, at 11 p.m.
-- As previously announced, 52 new episodes of InuYasha premieres will begin airing on Thursday nights at 11 p.m. on April 29.
-- 26 episodes of Wolf's Rain premieres begin airing on Thursday nights at 11:30 p.m. on April 29.
-- Case Closed, known as Detective Conan in Japan, will premiere Mondays-Thursdays at midnight beginning on June 7.
For the sake of full disclosure, please know that the above decision was protested earnestly and repeatedly by those in charge of Adult Swim. It is a battle that only very recently was lost. And it is a battle that we will continue to fight with the future hope that we will be able to move into Saturday nights later this year.
Additional Note: I know many of you will ask if there is anything you can do to change this decision. There is not. But strong ratings on the forthcoming Thursday action night would certainly go a long way towards solidifying our case in the future. As always, we appreciate your continued support.

Hehhh. Or Keh, if you prefer.
They had, what, 36, 38 before? Oh, what fun, they're gonna stop right before they get to Hakureizan--basically screwing everyone over plot wise by stopping just before the Shichinintai show up.
Considering the fansubbers are up to 142, and the dub is absolutely terrible, whatever, drops in the bucket and so on.
They can keep their Kaygohmay and their Eenewyawsha. The only thing more grating to the ears is Milly and Meryl on Trigun. Or Yoda--I mean, Kenshin.

SOD: the 52 episodes are thursdays at 11pm, note thats the only day of the week that inuyasha will air.... so one episode a week for 52 weeks gives them time to get more episodes, so if inuyasha ever ends in japan we'll finish it no more than a year or 18 months apart.... (for those that dont think its cool to only get one inuyasha a week, god forbid we have to watch anime once a week like it originally aired... and god-forbid we have to wait a whole week to watch relatively free un-cut anime.... even though inuyasha is a kids show)

"OMG 1nuy4SHa haz A SYst3R WTF?!1 I R R0X0R k thnX by!1"
Save yourself the trouble.
SaiyaMan's faster at subbing but their files are bigger, so I replace them with Anime-Kraze's as they come out.
If I want "series prediction" there's
this nice little site that has the manga translations. No pictures, but you can imagine it pretty well if you try a little. Obviously they don't follow the manga precisely with the show, but whatever, it's been fairly accurate so far.
Also, 52 weeks is a year. If they're going to be where Japan was in mid-2002 or so by about May of 2005 ... well, they can fuck off, because they're retarded.
My one problem with BitTorrent is nobody hosts older stuff. Getting Ranma ½ episodes off KaZaA sucks. Now
there's a show they'd never put on Toonami or Adult Swim! They'd run out of ink for 'bathing suits'. Plus that whole culture shock and plot thing.

Duel Masters - They gave a sneak peak or movie thing. I caught it after missing 7 minutes...and all I can say is I missed something. The dubbing is atrocious, the story...doesn't seem to exist...and I just thought that I felt robbed by the whole thing.

lol, i caught about 3 minutes of that Duel Masters cartoon..........
Man.........
I have NEVER felt that angry at a cartoon before.......
It's probably almost as bad as Bey Blades *sigh*
Cartoons need quality and it's a sad day when there are more kiddy anime's than the real thing.....

it was made to make fun of yugioh... the group that made it is rumored to have made it to get back at yugioh makers for not allowing them to dub it...
its supposed to be crappy, but a show nonetheless

You have no idea how long I've wished they'd make an anime out of Jojo's Bizzare Adventure. Or Blade of the Immortal. TV needs more unbelievably gory anime series such as those. But the unique art styles are nearly impossible to duplicate. Especially Araki's. He had the OVAs but that wasn't even the entire 3rd volume.

SPOILARS!!
well i just saw the after phase SEED thing... which would be the real ending... and it sets the stage for DESTINY real well....
kira seems to be living in the orphanage back at earth, with the blind dude and lacus left ZAFT... so did Athrun, he went back to orb with cagalli which was still a battlefield, but everyone agreed with each other there and put their weapons away (if any of you read the astray mangas we know whats really going on there)
yzak seems to be an official for zaft, and darka was at his side... so thats good, kira is extremely quiet you can tell he's going through some bad ish... it seems like aside from orb the rest of the world is very hesitant about putting away nuclear weapons, since now they can be used again... they only show the point of view from earth side though

... and worse of all it seems andy joined the alliance eww... either that or Zaft has taken their uniforms and added a green patch... ramulous was at her house eating tea by herself... we see her captain's hat, but she isnt in uniform maybe she dropped out to.. we see that fag sai typing in his computer with pictures of all of his friends around.. and it seems that darka and kira's friend didnt hook up, she was home alone moping over the dude that athrun be-headed with the aegis shield.. thats about it, very short dont buy it without volume 13 or a box set...

They have. At least two times, and possibly a third.
The first anime incarnation of the Jojo's Bizzare Adventure manga was the 6 part OAV series, and the secondtime was the Tv series. Both dealt with the middle part of the continuing battle with Dio, with Joseph Joestar and his grandson Jotaro hunting him down.
As for the
third anime incarnationof the manga series....

I was gonna give SEED the benefit of doubt since i had allready seen it subbed. but the unfortunate fact is that this is yet another stereotypical american dub. It is so horrible its not even funny. The voices are static and lack any sort of emotion, and if my ears are failing me, it seems like that there are really like 5 voice actors doing different parts. I am gonna buy the DVD's and watch it subbed for the rest of my days.....
