Well, I got excited about this cartoon as it featured giant robots. Giant robots are like, my favorite thing. I was a child of Force Five and Macron 1. Anyways, looked good so I thought I would check it out with my son.

Started off REALLY tight. Artwork is cool but animation is like 15fps. What you'd expect from tv animation. Everything was working really well. It has a good storyline and some cool characters. I especially love the leader of the Glorft. He has some typical but slick lines. Anyways, my first hint of mockery was when they showed the MEGAS in it's original form. It's head was Optimus Primes. NO SHIT!!! I was like, come on. So the story moves along and the kid is fighting in the MEGAS and it's chest opens and out comes the front end of the Yamato!!! Then he used the wave motion gun!!! I almost lost my lunch!!! WHAT THE FUCK!?!!??!!? Then to top it off, they had the Autobot Matrix sitting in the cockpit with them and they filled it with canned cheese.

They have a very nice way of taking something cool and fucking it up. American animation SUCKS!!!! All the cameo stuff they threw in just made it worse. THE FUCKING YAMATO FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!! On top of that, the kid destroyed several buildings, his own house and de-rezed a neighbors house and didn't think anything of it. No dead bodies or complaints either.

I was VERY dissappointed with the final output of this cartoon. But still, I'm drawn in to watch more episodes.

Then again, I didn't really give a shit about the cameos until he busted out the "manual controls." Then I started laughing so hard I about wet myself.

I'm sorry, but detroit-ghetto rebuilt super-robot with PS2 and Atari controllers for the weapon systems and a DDR pad piloted by a badass, fatass, american car mechanic = cool no matter how you slice it.

No, it's not that it's meant to be funny and I didn't get it, it's that they tried too hard to be cool and fucked up. It started off sooooo well then just totally fell off. We need a new giant robo cartoon and I thought this was gonna be it. Oh well, I guess peeps just wanna laugh.

And yes, the front end of the Yamato came out of his chest. It's on at 10pm tonight.

Heheh....I missed the first episode. Though I loved the second one. It was just hilarious. I was expecting a funny giant robot show..not a serious one. I got what I wanted.

yeah its good at first just how it was when it went against kids next door to see which would get turned into a series... unfortunately the eps get very predictable and dry as the series progresses.... and thus why it lost to the kids next door way back then...

well as soon as CN smartens up we might get reboot back... which was supposed to air but they decided to release megas... thanks god for mtv

Heh, i liked this show, personally.
It's not meant to be serious people.
Favorite episode so far: The one where he fights these power ranger/voltron -ish super heros and their nemesis for a fricken slushy! (if you haven't seen this episode, don't hi-light the following text. I hate to spoil shows for you all.)Then he puts on their mechs like a pair of gloves and boots, attempts to destroy the main bad guy with their 'so called "ultamite weapon"'. He fricken misses, and causes a black hole to appear. It swallows the bad guy. And in order to stop the black hole, the kid just creates a SECOND one right next to it and they canceled each other out!!!! LOL!

yeah that was cool, so you getting the 13 ep series when its out on dvd?

That shit gets expensive, especially when you watch as much TV as i do....

If only someone would release the greatness of Gaogaigar in the US for me, and you fat heads.
