OVERALL WINNER: DEIMOS... 8 pts.
Panda vs
Deimos (1337) - L (4500) / L (1100) / L (350)
Desert Storm (SP) - L (1500) / W (4500) / W (3200)
Crisis (1337) - L (500) / W (2800) / W (4000)
We gave Panda the Structure as a home stage since Space didn't have one listed on the notes he took to my place. Lots of cover befitted his huge energy rifle and the ceiling really screwed everyone who had beaten him by going high-angle in the Aerial Ruins. Unfortunately he just didn't have the juice to stop Deimos reign of terror... I'd like to think things would have gone the other way if Space and I had our controllers switched.
Space Pirat tried to be more adaptive with the missiles, sometimes picking them up mid-match to throw me off-guard. All I did with 'em was waste the ammo ASAP and dropped them the moment the enemy got into their range.
Deimos vs
Panda (SP) - W 4500 / W 1100 / W 350
Desert Storm (SP) - W 1700 / W 3000 / W 4000
Crisis (1337) - L 1200 / W 5000 / W 6000
Crisis was the ONLY AC to get a single point against Deimos, on a match where fate had the MG800 break. More of that would have been highly appreciated, but didn't happen.
There are a number of factors behind this total ownage: maybe most importantly, the missile combination is awesome. It made me an instant fan. Multis ignore decoys pretty handily, so they can be quickly emptied out while still contributing a small amount of damage... or a lot of damage if you get a chance for any high-angle fire. Actually, stray multi warheads came out of the woodwork and caused damage even when Space Pirat was trying to hide behind cover to protect himself. They sneak around pillars, they luck out and find their way into tunnels, they pop over hills....
Second was (of course) the MG800/GSL56 combination. It's really hard to escape as is, and on top of that you've got everyone picking enclosed stages for their home-stage matches. Crisis and even Desert Storm really got some benefit from the funky terrain of the Aerial Ruins, as can be seen by how they handed it to Panda and even Deimos (comparitively).
Between the missiles and the CQ weaponry, I'd almost say that this is one of those ACs that would benefit from an orbit core. I never felt the need for OB while driving this thing around.
Desert Storm vs
Panda (1337) - W 1500 / L 4500 / L 3200
Deimos (1337) - L 1700 / L 3000 / L 4000
Crisis (1337) - L 2000 / W 500 / L 2000
Desert Storm was caught between a rock and a hard place on all these battles. Crisis was too fast for the MG500 to track, and moreover the rifles somehow kept breaking EVERYTHING on the AC. Panda was just too tough, and used both cover and OB to keep out of the worst danger from mixed MG fire. Deimos was like an evil, more powerful, clone... with stronger CQ weaponry and a more damaging ranged attack.
Crisis vs
Panda (SP) - W 500 / L 2800 / L 4000
Deimos (SP) - W 1200 / L 5000 / L 6000
Desert Storm (SP) - W 2000 / L 500 / W 2000
A while ago I was running around with an AC much like Crisis. Those rifles aren't to be underestimated. Neither Deimos nor Panda could keep their left-hand weapon all the way through a battle. Desert Storm lost ALL his stuff twice, though he did generate a win in one match where his MG500 somehow managed to last for the full duration. The indoors arenas really didn't work for him... if the homestage selection had been Aerial Ruins, this AC may have been one of the top-scorers.
