Hey, to hell with you! Three IRCops in as many hours is a record unless you visit a damn help channel.

Basically folks the issue is everybody who logs in through CGI is seen by the server as a clone - because the server masks the IP. This is bad because it looks like clone flooding.

So it's still a work in progress. However, if you haven't used the chat by the end of this week, you're a fucking punk.

Okay - now EVERYTHING should be worked out. I ditched the old client for a new, prettier one that works better - it's at http://www.armoredcore.org/irc/chat.html . Everything should be set, so have a good time with it! And yes, as SoD says, you are a punk if you don't visit this lovely place

The CGI interface is giving me trouble. I can't get in Channel. In fact, I'm not even sure I'm connected to irc.blitzed.net.

Kinda bizarre, really. I'm not sure whether it's because I'm using Firefox and it has some sort of compatibility issue with Java.

The interface, however, is pretty stellar. Well done!

What's the software you have to install to go into the Chat? I presume it's safe since several have, but still.

Not required unless you really want it. Top-right corner there's a button. Click it and chat initiates.

When I try I get a "Do you want to install and run..." something about security software with an unrecognized root. Answering that I don't want it produces:

[11:37] Unable to connect : com.ms.security.SecurityExceptionEx : cannot connect to "irc.blitzed.org"

Accept the download. It interfaces with Java somehow. Perfectly harmless.

That is just a security warning, Ky. It makes it sound like your installing something if you use IE (Another reason I hate IE ) but it's just a java applet. When that thing pops up click yes, and it will connect.

So, whenever any new person enters the chatroom, or whenever anyone decides to leave the chatroom, I should immediately /ignore all users and simply wait a few minutes for people to finish greeting/saying goodbye? Wow, Thanks Easter Gregbear! BOCK BOCK!

Then you won't have to get on here and cry about rudeness and whatnot. It doesn't take more than two or three lines of text to determine a chatters input value.

I've got an ignore list as long as both of my arms for some of the servers I frequent.

Problem being since you're a Java user, you won't have the luxury of a local ignore file. So you'll have to manually activate it per session.

Greg. You may recall we used to chat via IRC, after you got me the mIRC client? No, I don't know all the terminology as well as you do, but I certainly know the /ignore command. And the /me (takes some funny action) command. And enough others to get by just fine. You might even recall at one point, you initiated a chat via a few mouse clicks (DSC chat? Again, I'm not strong on the terms), and I showed you how to do it in one mouse command, just something I had figured out by experimenting about a bit.

In other words, you know I know how to do what you're saying, and you also know it doesn't really relate to what I said (or only conditionally if so). It's not always the answer to /ignore anyone who isn't directly contributing to the conversation you're in right then. Sometimes you set up a private chat, etc. Go ahead, take your shots, etc. Obviously using me as a verbal punching bag does your soul good. And the rest of the forums usually get a laugh from our little melodramas.

Ha ha! Is this all stuff relating to the ranting each of you were doing before i jumped off? Sounds like sometimes you should just accept not to talk about certain subjects, and leave it as that.

Anyway, good to see people using the chat feature, hope to see more than just SoD and Ky in the morning and Kobel and GA in the evening though (no offense to you lot of course).
