Anyone check it out? Fucking awesome so far!
Kaze
So far? I thought it was just a movie? I saw some 2 hour long special or something with some busty chick that copied Xmen's shadowcat and the famous dead people being evil or something. It was good for a while but I don't know if I could see a whole series of it especially since they killed off the cool people.

I liked the movie.. or was it an OAV series. Whatever it was, I like it over the TV series. The TV series is a bit slow, with characters I couldn't care less about. I only seen about half of it so far on G4/techTV. I just hope it gets better soon, but somehow I doudt it.
Versellios
I got the 2hr movie saved on my DVR. I'm half way through and it's starting to get slow.
Symphony of Destruction
Worst. Plot. Ever.

LETS RESSURRECT OBSCURE HISTORICAL FIGURES AND GIVE THEM SUPERPOWERS WHICH CAN ONLY BE STOPPED BY A GIRL WHO CAN MYSTERIOUSLY MANIPULATE PAPER AND THEN STOP A ROCKET CARRYING A CLONE OF BEETHOVEN INTO ORBIT SO HE CAN MAKE A SONG THAT MAKES PEOPLE KILL THEMSELVES!!! Lets not forget the idiocy of tasking a British book collection agency with overseeing the naval power of the United States in order to SAVE THE WORLD.

Way too stupid, way too little time.

Nancy/Miss Deep/Matahari was hot though. Drake and Joker were interesting characters. The rest is piss. I've heard the TV show was a lot better, though it had virtually nothing to do with the OVA.
Versellios
I haven't finished it yet but I'll comment on it when I do.
Puppydog007
Wow, SoD does make it sound pretty sucky.
MagusDraco
I liked it. Not enough to keep it on the dvd-rw disc..but I liked it. Action was pretty good, story was...well...story was ok. Weird, but ok. Plus it was hilarious how that one girl went orgasmic around books.
Orion
I loved it, the story was certainly unique, which is part of the reason I do so enjoy watching it over and over *Downloaded OVA*

Its nice to have something this off beat come along now and then.

So if your looking for a traditional plot, like one that makes perfect sence, may want to stear clear. But if you want something thats just pure joy to watch, you have got to see this.

Make that any sense. This aggrivated a headache I had at the time. The fact I came to utterly dispise the character of Paper didn't help.
Rattan
I liked it. The TV series does tie it into the OVA. Hell even Ms. Deep pops up at some point I hear. Either that or its that damn albino with the horrible voice.
Crimson Fury
Miss Deep, whoo hoo.

It was okay, kind of crazy and random but I don't regret watching it.
syllaw blood
eh? its just like spriggan to me., the OVA, the characters were pretty cool at least the dude from saiyuki... and for an OVA it wasnt too bad

the series itself is a bit slow, but better paced than GITS:SAC speaking of GITS anyone pick up the second movie on dvd yet?

Eh, after watching Wolf's Rain because it was inbetween Inuyasha and Witch Hunter Robin I doubt any strangeness can phase me now. That show was scripted by lunatics.
syllaw blood
you should watch other stuff by studio bones, they love that type of ending... they even did it to FMA.... that was one heck of a twist...

Someone finally agrees with me! ohmy.gif

I dunno though. I'd say ROD was up there.

The sad part is that some of the people who worked on Cowboy Bebop worked on Wolf's Rain. Somewhere along the way they sniffed too many vending machine dispensed panties and went mad, stark raving mad I tell you. Well, maybe not criminally insane... but very surreal. I don't know if you've watched it to the end, but even that is crazy and dark.

Maybe I've been playing too much Half Life or something, but shouldn't at least one of them carried a gun? I mean, after getting blasted by troops a bunch of times - not to mention the old man. Bah, if I talk about this too long I'll start to go crazy. Oh well, I'll stop here.

Didn't they just look like humans due to some kinda... magic? Remember when, say, they grabbed someone in human form, they were actually, in wolf form, grabbing them with their jaws? I dunno how far the illusion goes and I'm not sure if the creators meant for them to just be projecting that human form of themselves through magical means, or if they actually somehow had material human forms at one point(other than the end) but I don't think they had opposable thumbs either way so guns would be out of the question.

That show's very hard to follow though, and I didn't watch many of the episodes so I could be way off. laugh.gif
Duneman
Nah, the human form lets them manipulate objects as any human can. You see this in the first or second episode. When the silver haired wolf is carrying boxes of supplies raided from the nobles on a pipe.
Crimson Fury
Ah I see. That's some crazy magic. Yeah, the writers were on angel dust.
Thorne
Nah, Dune I gotta believe all the stuff like that is a projection. Either that or Tsume (sp?) has it in his mouth or on his back. The wolves can't really use human objects save for putting it in their mouth and moving it around. So, no I don't think they could use a gun. Possibly a knife, but not a gun...

I'm really enjoying the show so far, but Toboe (sp?) can get a bit annoying and he always looks like he has a load in his girl pants (big hips). The current DVD is in the mail as I type (I skipped the recocollecions one, thank God!). The OST is decent too if you're into that stuff.
Rattan
I aquired the entire series of R.O.D. the TV. I haven't watched EVERYTHING. But so far its as good as the 13 episodes shown on G4. That Paper Master battle in 14 was awesome. A bit of the old Yomiko humor in there when she finally shows up in the series. Not to mention they seem to point out the fact she's got big knockers.

Though it seems everyone else at the British Library went bat shit insane. I mean there was one big fucking turn around in good/bad distinction. At least Drake is the same tough guy. Drake rocks. He doesn't need any special powers.

But I wish they coulda dubbed that damn albino better.
Duneman
Eh, I recently watched both the ROD OVA and The TV. OVA was alright, bonus points for fire-breathing Sanzo, but otherwise meh. The show was a lot better. The characters are very likable, and the story moves along well whether its action or just the sisters hanging out together. Also, I definitely agree about the British Libary going batshit insane. At least the US President pissed himself fewer times in the whole TV series than in the OVA. tongue.gif

Out of the two, ROD OVA is just alright; but The TV gets my official seal of approval. I suppose I rank it lower than FMA or Naruto, but don't take that as a put down. Its a great show too. Much better than some of the random robot crap Anime. Also, not to spoil anything about the end, but man did it feel like I was watching a Japanese RPG game unfold. laugh.gif
