I should be in Los Angeles for a couple of days in mid-December, it's just a stopover between England and New Zealand, but i was wondering if any L.A. people wanted to have a beer and chat AC, or even slap me about a bit?

No car, so somewhere not too far from LAX airport where i assume i'll find a hotel (last time it was one by Nottsbury Farm), and obviously in this world of psychos with flesh-eating tendancies, somewhat safe (rather than "meet me in random dark alley and wear a blue bandana and a t-shirt saying "spanish people go home").

Just if anyone's about at that time? Realising it's close to Christmas time and it might be mid-week like the 18th, 19th or 20th.

Also if anyone knows of "intresting" things to do in L.A. which arent too touristy; Last time i went to Universal Studios, Disneyland and the Getty museum, but wouldnt mind visiting other art galleries, science or historically inclined museums?

Damn, I'll be in Montana for December, but nevertheless I'm sure EJ and SoCal co. will descend on you like locusts (a good ol game of beat the limey).

As far as tourist attractions go...uhm...I know some good sushi bars, but since you've been to the Getty I cant think of much else.

Sorry EJRaven, just that third week. In fact i have more specific times now, bit shorter than i hoped:

arrive LAX 07:15 18th Dec - leave LAX 14:45 20th Dec

So 1 full day and 2 bits of days. Penguin Deus indicated a high probability of some VS with people he plays with, so see what happens. I guess i'll bump this in a month's time closer to the date...

I'm on break then, so I should be open. Can't say for sure yet, obviously.

Well i came, i saw and i ate burgers!

L.A. was kinda ok. Very large (forget walking anywhere), and damn smog-ridden. People seemed friendly, things to see, though of course no AC as Penguin Deus said everyone was doing exams or something But i still managed to keep entertained whilst about.

LAX must be the saddest airport every for duty free shopping though. I was hoping to get a copy of SOCOM 2, and maybe a USA network adapter, plus a few region 1 DVDs, but all it's got is a Starbucks, a couple of pubs and some big "smelly stuff - smokes - alcohol" shop. Very dissapointing. So now i've got a couple of hundred useless US dollars... Maybe i can pass them off as £20 notes (the only green ones we have)
