Hey guys, you might remember me.
I don't live in Stockton anymore. Got accepted to Humboldt State, Arcata, extreme north california.
Just a heads up.
I've been on AC-deprivation mode until I bought Nexus like four days ago. I was paying attention to other things and not the news on Nexus. Am I correct to assume they figured out how to include online modes with this thing? And if so, what ware do I need to run that shit? I haven't even tried the second disk yet.
Joust, Kobel, Juju etc whatup fools? I might be coming home this weekend for memorial day.

You don't need a cross-over wire for the PS2 NA-to-router connection. I'm running a straight-through patch cable. BTW there's all sorts of set-up and headache information in The Big Fat Nexus Tunneling Topic.

Awww, yeah!
Hey Jeff, it's good to see you back in the mix again. Three of us are already online (Juju, Kobel and myself -- however, my connection is very bad).
Anyway, I'm good to go on that weekend (Veteran's Day).

Sweet.
I saw that topic, now I guess I'll have to read it and get it all worked out. This PS2 isn't even mine up here at the dorm. :/
About this weekend.
My car keys are missing. They might be at this girl's place, but they might also have gone in with the laundry and never came out. I can't drive without keys, so I don't know if I can make it down this weekend after all. This car key thing has me really irritated.
Still, hey guys, gtbb.

Aw yeah, it just hasn't been the same since you left. Jeff, I've tried out a hover missile boat in Nexus, and I have to say they are VERY nasty now. I think if you can make it to MoC this year you'll definitely make a mark... as long as you're not TOO out of practice, haha. Unfortunately, I'm going to be out of town for most/all of this weekend... My grandparents are coming into town (town, in this case, being Oakland) and so I have a sort of familial obligation there. Still, I hope I get to play with you again sometime relatively soon.

One thing WAY ahead of time: if you're using wireless components in your network, the configuration might not be supported by XLink because of the haxor way the software has to assign a network address to the PS2. Check the quickstart guide on www.teamxlink.co.uk

Some of the new missiles have me going WHEE :D :D :D
The micro missiles with extensions are great, and I need to test the new multimissile 8 launch system, now that it has 6 shots and considerably less weight.
Also: Are antimissiles any good this time around? What about ECM? ECM looks like it got a HUGE boost in importance this time around, or maybe I'm just being illused?
The new e-sniper looks like just the thing. Comments?
There's so much junk to toy with in Nexus. I could cry, it's just what I've needed to get back into AC. All I need to do now is pretend like I don't notice the lack of a LOAD FUCKING GAME option, and figure out which missions I have to fail and how in order to unlock others.
Stupid complicated Nexus. :( <3
Oh yeah and don't hold your breath on seeing me online soon. I have no idea about this tunnelling thing, or how it will work with the residential internet service in the dorms. It's a fast connection, but I'm a clueless newb about wires and routers and stuff.
Who wants to visit the smokey woods of Humboldt county to trade hookups? L O L

I fought a guy who was using two 90-missile micro launchers and 9x4 relations online this morning. Usually... usually... I was dodging good enough to tread water or come out ahead. SOMETIMES I ATE A WHOLE VOLLEY AND DIED SCREAMING. I lost a 2000AP lead in one particular volley and crash-landed just in time to have my AC's head cut off with a blade.
Personally I think that the 90-shot micromissiles, triple small missiles, and four-at-a-time launchers are teh sauce. Too many people run the lock-jammer option so it can be really hard to multi-lock anything, even NYMPHE, or deal with a slow-locking launcher like HYDRA2.
As for the online link, this stuff is relatively simple. I know what I'm doing with network gear so I got it figured out from a pretty general description and a couple error messages in one night. If you get all the gear together, I'm sure that I or someone else who's put their home network together for Kai could talk you through it.
