Let's get straight to business:

Round 1 ---
Styx vs. Requiem:
Highway - Styx - 1600 / Snowfield - Requiem - 2200 / Ruins - Styx - 4900

Notes: Requiem's missile game didn't have any momentum compared to the hell that Styx could throw his way on such short notice. Good clean battles all around until Styx got hold of Req in the ruins... that ORCA EO came out on a couple sweet opportunities and that was all she wrote. I cried as my AC burned.

Soyaabi vs. Manticore:
X Arena - Manticore - 3500 / Mil. District - Soyaabi - 600 / Arena - Soyaabi - DNF

Notes: Manticore blew the doors off of Soyaabi in the Blood Pit. I was happy to even dent the %#@^. Military District, I was overboosting my arse off ... ever burned yourself with MI008 and CR14? ... and keeping the AP difference close. As Manticore hit the 1000 AP mark his MG800 blew into a million pieces. Space bravely aimed his GSL but F that. I kept my remaining 600 AP and won a hard match.

The arena. Oh the horrors. We had a re-do because I got owned when I blew my rad while overboosting and ejecting all the crap I could afford... for fairness' sake, you know. Next match, I blew Manticore's MG800 while he had 4500 AP still on him. We give him a rematch because that crap's not fair either. Another blown MG mid-match. I was ahead in AP as well and we couldn't handle the strain of that matchup any more so we took the third result.

Triton vs Deimos:
City - Triton - 2000 / Ab. Factory - Deimos - 2500 / Arena - Triton - 350

Notes: These guys fought it out fair and square. Triton's GNL was a big advantage in the City, dealing tremendous damage on cover breaks and sneak-attack maneuvers. I wasted most of my grenades in the Factory (they don't actually auto-hit, it just seems like it) and Deimos smoked me justly with his short range firepower. In the arena it was a 50-50 split. I was better with the grenades but still ran out. The moment of truth came when Space tried to rush me on a LIC reload and got caught in a hail of MG300 spam.

Night Zero vs Desert Thunder:
Air Ruin - Thunder - 1000 / Snowfield - Night Zero - 1000 / Cave - Thunder - 1700

Notes: Space didn't get busy with the EOs until too late in the first match... they abuse the tremendous CASK/ACE defense bias pretty badly and when they did come out it was painful. The snowfield had him doing everything right, particularly with me spending most of my time stuck at the bottom of the ravine waiting for a full battery so I could climb out of there... only to fall back in again as the 2-d battle heated up and I started OBing this way and that.

The third round? Fricking tanks. Fricking GNL. Space found himself backed into a corner of the cave and dodged one or two grenades as I rolled into killzone range. Satan was appeased by my courage and granted my boomstick total accuracy. Two grenades hit before Space realized that he was in truly dire straits. He hid behind a pillar only to eat another fireball as he popped out. He went vertical quickly but not fast enough for the grenade sight. Too much was too much.

ROUND 2 --------------

Styx vs Soyaabi
City - Styx - 500 / Cave - Soyaabi - 2200 / Highway - Styx - 3500

Notes: Styx more-powerful missile set and better up-front damage come out to play again in round 1 and 3 respectively. Soyaabi has good average performance, but loses ground against every big hit.

Triton vs Desert Thunder
Resivoir - Thunder - 2000 / Structure - Triton - 1600 / Arena - Thunder - 2200

Notes: Triton nailed Thunder with a poke in round two, hence the win. Otherwise Thunder's just better armed and armored with CNG500 instead of MG300 when the grenades run out.

FINAL FIGHT!!!!!!!!1111111111111 --------------------

Styx vs Desert Thunder
Cave - Thunder - 2000 / Cave - Thunder - 1500

Styx fought like hell. Thunder was overheating all the time from missile barrages and mixed close quarters fire. The EO was out and railing on the tank whenever energy permitted. But Thunder was thick-skinned enough to bide his time and press for single GNL hits while switching over to the chainngun if he really needed to buy some breathing room. Styx simply couldn't do enough damage from a safe distance... his main armament ran dry too quickly and the secondary firepower brought him into ranges much too short for too little reward. Well played though, well played.
