Full Version: The Challenge thread
Ok, this is a thread to put up general challenges for other rumblers. You can set the rules and such here or in private. This is also a place to list when you'll be online. Well, get cracking! I wanna set up an open challenge for anybody this Friday around 4:30-5:00pm. C'mon, its Veteran's Day. You get the day off, and get to whup up on my little Katz and my Carro build.
I am off from my day job on Friday due to Veterans' Day. What time zone are you in, Kevin? I'll see if we can get it on. I do have to report to my night job at about 6pm. I'm in Central.
I've got the day off on Friday as well. Maybe I'll take my Raketenkanone 4W for a spin online. Sucks to be sharing parts between scoots, since I've always got one partially disassembled.
Speaking of which, can you select which chip you're using once you're logged on? I guess it's no big deal stripping some stuff off my melee build if I can't use my melee chip anyway.

Well, I'm here because THEY HAVE NO ONLINE PS2s. IF YOU'RE SELLING THE SLIM PS2 WITH THE NET ADAPTER BUILT IN, DON'T YOU THINK YOU WOULD HAVE ONE PLAYABLE??? It is a GAMING café after all. That got on my nerves, but at least they let me switch my hour from the TV to the PC. Pssht. I guess I'm gonna have to go over to MD's place if I want online.

1337 and I were mainly tied, although he could run circles around me in the manuvering department. I just had more armor and got behind him once or twice.
Regardless, it was tons of fun, especially when The 1337ness took over hosting duties. That other dude's connection was assy. Anywho, we all need to get online and start playing, regardless of how much pwnage your scoot can dish out. It's fun.

I played in a couple matches from about 8:15 until 9. I'm going to blame my terrible performance ( 0 kills) on the lag.

SLAI blows me away in just how much fun a dead simple one-on-one versus can be, maybe with some drones tossed in for extra points and false radar signatures.
Droobies and I were trading kills really well, my job was to stay the hell out of sight and keep the damage going with grenades... throw in some gunfire while I had OC protecting me... while his was to corner me with his 4-baller and blow me away in a firefight. It went both ways. Our last match ended with scores of 312 vs 306 or something in his favor.
That other guy we were fighting owned our souls with his nigh-400 level chip and shit, he was a good sport though and paid some compliments to our abilities. Honestly we should have ganged up on his ass... I wonder if he could have taken us in an organized two-on-one?
Dunno about the 2 on 1, he's still so damn fast and seems to have even more armor than I did, even though I think he was rocking a Proton or something. Just goes to show how much a chip well over 2x your own level can kick your ass.
No worries though, I'm working on a very tasty (I hope) melee Proton that you shall grow to fear. I do have work tonight and tomorrow night, but I should be up for some rumbling sometime after.

Well, I managed to buy a fully tuned shield for my grenade scoot which should help since even at -99 it adds a huge chunk to to my total armor... and I'm rumbling my ass off to tune up a SVabwehr kanone. I'm totally looking forward to the next time we get together. I need a better master-class build, or to learn that I have to stick to maps where my grenade machine does well.
Conisdering your 'Nade SV can light up an entire quarter of a stage, it seems to do very well. There isn't a single nook or cranny I could access with Bones that kept me out of their reach. Hopefully you'll get to meet Skitter next time we play.
