Indeed.
Now that Arrested Development is gone this is the best comedy on television. Great stuff.

No, Scrubs is.

Hm. Scrubs is pretty funny, but no. It is pretty close though.
Oh, on the other hand, I do feel compelled to mention that I find Sarah Chalke pretty hot.
Edit: Also, Season 1 DVD comes out in 6 days!

Yeah, it's a shame Scrubs comes on at such an unfortunate time. But there's always Torrent episode downloads.

Season 1 on DVD will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine.

This show is pretty funny. I remember hyping it up after the Happiness Machine episode, you know, when the boys and Brock get stuck inside it? THAT was funny.
MAAAARCO!?!?!

MARCO?!

Fricken classics.
---------
Dr. Byron Orpheus: Do not be too hasty in entering that room. I had Taco Bell for lunch!
---------------
Henchman 2: Come on! They have one female servicing a large group of males. That implies a species that lays eggs.
Henchman 1: Oh my God, you're crazy! They're so obviously mammals!
Henchman 2: Please! She'd be in estrus 24/7 if she didn't lay eggs.
Henchman 1: Smurfs don't lay eggs! I won't tell you this again! Papa Smurf has a fucking beard! They're mammals!

First episode of season 2!
It started out a little slow, and it never quite hit the same heights that the first season did. However, the revelation about 2/3rds in followed by the HILARIOUS montage sequence really kicked it into high gear and left me with high hopes for the rest of season 2.
Really, really, really weird show

WEAK
But yeah, just about the only time I ever laughed out loud was during the montage and at the very end when Venture's 'other half' helped monarch out of the shit. That was totally random.
Was it just me or was Dr. Orphius drawn a little differently? his face looked different somehow.
I didn't really like the new voice of midgit venture. Totally happy/upbeat compared with the gravily hoarse tone from season 1.
Oh well, I'm sure the only reason this show didn't seem right was because hank and dean weren't around. I hope it gets better in upcoming episodes.

I'm willing to bet that once you see this episode again it'll grow on you. It wasn't as good as the best episodes of Season 1, and it's not fair to compare it to those anyway. However, I think it stood pretty well among the show's episodes as a whole, and I'm willing to bet the season will pick up and end up rocking at least almost as hard as the first one did. They really had a lot of ground to cover in terms of plot in this episode, which probably accounts for the somewhat weaker humor.
The animation did change a little, but it's not really a big deal. Jonas Jr's voice also seemed a bit odd, as you noted, but oh well.

The best part of the episode was all the prison scenes with Monarch and King Gorilla.
"Were you trying to rape me?" "Yeah but you look too much like a girl I couldn't get it up"
Watching Dean and Hank die about 20 times was hilarious as well. Plus the flashback of Dr. Venture in his youth made me remember how much I loved watching Johnny Quest.

I watched the second ep a couple of days ago. In a word: Badass. VB is just as good as it ever was IMO. The Phantom Limb/Brock scenes were great, and the intro (with The Monarch's Henchmen) was absolutely brilliant.
Also, I saw in the [AS] bumps that there's gonna be some new eps of Futurama. Anyone know anything about that?

supposedly matt groning is going to be directly in control of the new episodes rather than just as a producer.

Oh awesome. I heard much the same thing about the Simpsons movie. Hope that means they're all going to be badass.

If you missed the episodes you can watch them on adultswim.com and stream them for free. They actually post the newest episodes before they air on TV so it is pretty cool. Updated weekly though so if you miss consecutive episodes you are screwed.

Last nights episode was pretty fucking awesome. Real season one quality.
I can't wait till they show what became of the hindu (or arabian?) kid from the old Johnny Quest cartoon.

For those of you interested in behind the Scenes type crap here's a link to creator Jackson Publicks' blog:
http://jacksonpublick.livejournal.com/ . It's full of fun crap that you'd expect from the creator of the Venture Bros.

OH MY GOD. Yeah, The Venture Bros is officially back in form. The last episode was one of the funniest fucking things I have EVER seen. IMO it totally matches, possibly even surpasses, the best episodes of the first season.

I take back only for episode 2. Dr. Venture as a villian would have been badass if he would've gone through with it. My only complaint is that the episodes seem so short.
