my suggestion is to make AC designs and the part chat 2 different sections. it would make things easier to get to.

and it also makes the forum look bigger smile.gif

Thanks for the suggestion, but in my opinion, the forums don't really need to look any bigger than they are already. A subforum, maybe, but certainly not another forum viewable by the main page. I'll leave the call for a subforum to Kobel, but I seriously doubt it's going to happen, mainly because it's honestly not that difficult to begin with and this format has seemed to work rather well for 3 message boards.

Seriously. No.

One of the only things I don't like about ACO is how there are a million subforums in every subforum of every forum. Anytime you want to find a topic you have to wade through a dozen levels of categories.

The CC forum is perfect just the way it is.

yeah its alot better the way it is... i maybe biased at this suggestion, but to me its about the quality of the board not how big it looks... its been working fine at it is....

I agree that I really enjoy the lay out of this forum. It's easily navigated as Darksword pointed out. I really wish that ACO would adopt a simpler lay out instead of creating a new forum everytime a new member joins. No offense to ACO because I love it there but it does seem like a big mess where as this just feels more tidy and neat. Just my two cents.

I just joined so I'm getting used this layout, I do like that it looks small and simple, however, I feel the need to side with Slam on this issue, I don't think a new forum is needed, but I do support the idea of a sub-forum. The mixed layout may work now, but as you gather more members, you will find that creating a subforum for designs is a good idea.

I have been part of the ACo Family since the reopening in june, its was once simple and small, just like this forum, but once the member count started to grow, (especailly after NCD shut down) we had to take action to insure organization. I will admit that ACo does have a few subforums that are not needed, but wouldn't go so far as to say that its tedius to get to a tobic becuase of them.

Bottom line, I like Slam's general Idea, but I'd rather see a sub-forum than a new forum all together.

I disagree. We encourage quality posting here when possible, not quantity posting. As such, when we start seeing the same trite old designs, nobody usually responds because it's all been said before. Likewise, seeing a billion variants of somebody's staple will also get few replies. Our design count is maybe 5 to 10 a day at the most, and we've only got 150 or so members, as opposed to ACO's 700+ (although only half of them post, making it more like 300).

Even were our traffic to double over-night, the current system would still be quite capable of handling it.

well you can always go back to aco... if you like the outlook so much that is... annoying, i found it... since this is a totally public forum i think the no subforum crap works really well, for people just cheking out the site altogether, unlike aco's non-members cant see jack shit policy.... but everyone must have a different view on public forums i gues... wink.gif

ACo is a forum that tries to incourage members to join, that is why so many sections are blocked off from geusts. simple as that. I do not put down this forum's layout becuase I see no problem with it as is for the time being, I'm a merly saying that, should a sudden gush of members come in, organization is key. But SoD pointed out some valid points so I rest my case for now on the issue.

I'm going to ignore that last one Wally and take your choice of words with a grain of salt...
