Full Version: Hosting/Organizing tournaments
The Raven's Haven > Armored Core > Raven Nexus

If there is time (and money), I might be able to host one in my local area. But what do I need to know? Do I need crowd control laugh.gif ?

But seriously, what are things to expect when hosting a tournament with a small group of 3 or atleast 2 people hosting and organizing it? (let's say about 10 people are going to be present)

I'm not really seeking advise on the tourney rules, but what to watch out for. Like providing food and drinks, the prize, unexpected stuff, tourney system (Round robin, elimination?)etc...

Help would be very nice smile.gif

well are you charging entrnace fee? if so how much? if you are charging then have a decent prize (gift certificates work well for everybody) and supply food/drinks. Double elimination is the standard tourney system, though someone else can explain it better then me

Like providing food and drinks,

You shouldn't really have to worry about food if you're in a suburban area...and in my experience when AC players get together with other AC players we won't stop playing unless we absolutely have to (I didn't eat until 11:00pm that night).

The prize can be cash (we just recycled our entrance fees). Most AC folks will be pretty happy to be in the same room with other AC folk and the prize is really a secondary concern.

Wow! Ravens don't get hungry?! blink.gif

What if your registration is on that day itself, how long does it usualy take, can 1 or 2 persons cover that task if about less than 10 are coming? matches are pretty long, so what other stuff can the guests do?
