I sent Scott an email just now to verify that the tournament is on and to ask if we should bring along any hardware. I'll let everyone know when or if he replies.

All right, the tournament is go for Sunday. Scott says he'll have a pair of TVs, so as long as I bring another system and copy of SL we'll be rocking a linked setup. I was thinking we should try and get there around 11:30 to scope things out, is that gonna be too early for anyone?

Yeah, time goes by VERY fast! My AI AC is a SAWA user and my other AI AC is a Missle boat, and both are S rank. Man, I really need to brush up on my skills before I go up against any one of you. As for traveling, I found out I have enough to get to just about anywhere. Tell me where and when the tourny is and I'll be there

My plan is to grab Ben and then show up at the con around 11:30 to make sure everything is setup.

Drakol: Check Kannon's link at the top of this thread. It's got the address of the convention site right on the main page. There is also a $1 off coupon on the site that will get you into the con for $3 bucks total, the tournament isn't any extra.
The site just says video game tournaments start at 12:00. I dunno if the Soul Calibur 2 or AC tourney will be held first, so just shoot for noon. When you get there just walk around screaming "I am Drakol" and we'll try and find you before you get tossed out.

Yeah anyway, the tournament had the smallest turnout ever. We started with a roster of 9 and a couple others showed up. We've had larger RNNC gatherings but it was still fun. The Soul Calibur tournament drew a lot bigger crowd and most of us played despite the fact that we suck at the game. The AC tournament ended with me snagging first place with a pretty uninspired Hunk update. I'll let someone else fill in the details cause I hear futurama coming on...

Anyway, it boiled down to me against Eric in the final round, and his broken-ass heavy design proved to much for me to take. As a test ground, though, it IMO proved that steps WILL have to be taken in order to achieve any level of balance in an SL tournament, or else we'll see NOTHING but heavyweights, and most of them mounting the MG800.
What those steps will be remains to be seen...

ya, it killed flat out, I'm just glad I lasted as long as I did, allthough considering the fact it was either kobel, or you, and knowing that I would've lost either way, I would rather have faced kobel now, probably would've survived longer, but thats hindsight for ya, good job btw

Soooo, when's the next tourny? I hope I can load my AI AC into the battle, it'll be good to try out it's abilities... Do you guys mind if I use a SAWA AC? No PLUS mind you.

It has dates listed for all the future conventions on the website, and there will probably be AC tournies at all of them. Also, there will probably be posts on the forum about it next time one comes up.

As i expected, my ass was handed to me on a silver plater. I was very impressed with the designs most of you sported. Far more creative then my MG/800 + Napalm Howie mid wieght.

Look for any threads that mention the RNNC, it stands for Raven's Nest of Northern California and it's mostly just a few guys around Sac that play. Things have been pretty slow from finals and the fact that SL has been out awhile but things should pick up a little as the big California tournament draws near.

You for sure need to hangout on this forum if you wanna get in on the action.
