Step 1: Scouting The Area
Before you decide to host a tourney you have to see if there are enough people in the area to make the tourney possible. First, look in the Player Locator http://www.armoredcoreonline.com/acl/ to see if there are any players in your area you can contact by e-mail, then you can go to stores where Armored Core is sold or rented to get an idea of how many people play Armored Core by asking the employees that work there how is the game selling or renting. You can also ask friends or family or anyone in any of the places you hang out, try to find information through your social network..
Step 2: Preparing The Event
You need to know where you're going to get your hardware from. TVs, PS2s, i-Links, etc. You can depend on the participants to help out with the hardware.
Make sure that everybody marks their stuff so nothing’s missing at the end of the tourney.
Step 3: Looking For A Place To Host
You need to have a nice size place to host the tourney, someone's house is always good but try to get a conference room from an apartment complex or a restaurant. There are places that will let you have the place at little or no charge at all, but you need to get on the phone and call places and ask if there are any conditions to get the room.
Step 4: Tournament Structure

Step 5: Seeking Players
Announce your tourney on the boards and around the area that it will take place with the customizable tourney host flyer.
The flyer is to attract any players that do not participate in the AC only community, in fact, most players do not frequent the boards, so this flyer will help you tap into that demographic.
The flyer works with B&W, color but not monochrome.
Each host can use the fields to type their own information in a simple and basic graphics program like Windows Paint.
Paint has a text feature as well in order to facilitate the writing of information, I used the Impact font at 18 size but you may do whatever you want with it.
If you're going to use color copies, I suggest you use them as display ads only in places which have a board like most music stores for example, and leave the B&W copies for mass posting or in piles as "take-home" flyers.
If you are going to print it in B&W, make sure to use the Photo style printing and not Text style printing. I suggest to use the flyer as early as possible from the event you plan on hosting, at least a few months. Also, if you have an opportunity to get plenty of copies, you may leave them in other places besides videogame stores and such, players also have other likes such as music, so also taking them to music stores is a good idea. Always ask for permission of the management of the place you want to post any flyers in. I hope this helps find those unplugged players out there to increase the attendance of your next event.
Step 6: Running The Tourney
All you have to do now is enforce your own rules and keep the peace, don't tolerate crap from anyone, remember, this is your event and here you are a god.
If you can, have food and drinks to entertain the players and just try to have a good time. At the end of the tourney make sure that everyone has their gear and discuss any thoughts about the current or a future tourney.
