Good Omens is a great book that has the humor of Monty Python and comes packed with twists in the plot. The story is about Heaven and Hell getting ready for the Apocalypse, but that will be decided by a 12 year old boy. So in order to get this boy to choose a side that will win, Heaven sends an angel and Hell sends a devil to influence him. While reading the book, it almost seems I was watching a movie. Pick it up sometime, k? cool.gif

It having Neil Gaiman's name on the cover is also a good thing. This book's very good.

If you liked Good Omens you should check out "Job: Comedy of Justice" by Robert Heinlein and "Inferno" by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle. All three of those books have a similar flavor and the two I mention are at least as funny as Good Omens.

Niven's Inferno in particular is a fucking riot; I wasn't able to put it down once and was giggling out loud through the entire book. The great bit is when someone asks you what's so funny and your explanation inevitably leaves them disgusted with you.

RAH is one of my favorite authors (see sig), so I second the recommendation of Job: A Comedy of Justice. It has a comic and irreverant take on theology, and you really find yourself rooting for the Hero/Heroine Job and Magritte (I think that's how her name is spelled, something close anyway.)

I like Niven, so I'll have to check out Inferno. Thanks!
